Photoshop is used to alter images. It can change the images in destructive and nondestructive ways. Masking is an example of nondestructive editing.

Quadrant Masking
The quadrant masking project was one of the first projects we did with Photoshop. We sectioned our black and white images, created layer adjustment masks for each quadrant, and then adjusted the RGB amounts to alter the color of each quadrant.
Black and White
For the black and white project we chose a colorful image. We then selected the section of the image we wanted to have color and then created a mask for the rest of the image. Then we adjusted the mask so that it was black and white.
