For the materials testing lab each group designed their own experiment and then we tested them with a modified experiment where we combined all our tests together. My group designed an experiment to test the water resistance of different materials. (The image below has the process we designed to test each of the materials.)
Process
Water Resistance: Each material was weighed and then submerged in water. Afterwards we weighed them again to see how much water the object absorbed. We continued weighing them every 5 minutes until 30 minutes were over. This showed us how quickly each material would dry.
Heat Conductivity: We found each material's temperature at room temperature and then put all the materials under a heat lamp. We took their temperature every 5 minutes for 30 minutes. Once the materials were back at room temperature, we did the same thing except for the materials were in a freezer instead of under a heat lamp.
This is the evidence from our materials testing lab. It is displayed on a spreadsheet. There are also some graphs below all the data that shows our analyses.
